In a Blitz(en)

Holy Moly! This past week has gone by SO quickly. I feel like the holiday season is just slipping through my fingers. I'm hoping time will just slow down a little bit when we head to North Carolina for Christmas with the in-laws.

All I remember from the beginning of last week was moving books and planning our broker party at work. Jon has forever dreamed of having a library and this is the result.

It is an intense collection of books. I think spotted a Nietzsche Pocket Series and an Ultimate Guide to Civil War Weaponry. And Jon's tax textbook collection is certainly a b*tch to carry.

On Tuesday, I went into downtown Austin to rent the PA system for the party.
I swear every guy in there was rocking the tight jeans and Bieber haircut - too cool for school.
I simply asked to rent two speakers, microphone and Ipod jack. I'm pretty sure the Bieberettes were laughing at me behind my back..."So basically she wants a Hannah Montana karaoke machine?" (I didn't actually hear them say this, but it's what I imagine they whispered whilst gathering my equipment.)

This is what they presented me with...a box. Panic set in.
Rest assured, I figured it out before the party. Taaa-daaaaa!!

Wednesday, Michelle and I spent the morning moving plants and decorations to the party venue. We almost lost Michelle to an unresponsive elevator door, but other than that the party went flawlessly.
The caterer I was rooting for throughout the entire planning process did not disappoint. We had a great turn-out and a lot brokers got to see the newly-renovated suite.

That night Kyle helped us move our bedroom furniture so we could actually start living in the new house.

From there things moved really quickly and before I knew it, we were picking up our weekend U-Haul rental and I had a bunch of hunky Army men showing up at my door to help us transport all of the ridiculously heavy items we own (4 bookcases, leather sofas, 3 wooden chests, and grill...Lord bless them).
Post-move, Jon and I took an extremely long nap. And by long nap, I mean we went to bed at 7:30 PM and woke up at 10 the next morning. It was so lovely!

We woke up energized and ready to clean our old apartment before turning in the keys.
I got a little nostalgic as we loaded up the last of the cleaning supplies. This was our first place together and we turned it into quite a home. I may be biased, but we thought it was the comfiest apartment ever. Now it's empty and cold. Reminds me of the day we moved in 2 years ago. So young...so naive....
To make matters worse, the best neighbors in the world (Kyle & Kelly) let us take part in their Sunday ritual- a delicious homemade, down-home-style dinner. We are SOO going to miss living just a building away from them :(.

Peace Out #222 (farewell photo-shoot slash avoiding the oven scrub-down....thanks for taking care of that, babe!)

Alright, enough of the that sappiness. Now it's time to organize this explosion before the Army-Navy party we are hosting this weekend.

I just reserved our Dos Equis keg and I must stock up on limes. Are we crazy?! YUP!

GO ARMY-BEAT NAVY!

All My Love,
Jessica
