Jon had gone to a Hail & Farewell party at work the night before the Army-Navy game, giving me the chance to shamelessly Christmatize our house.
Our new wreath! Spot the Buddy below.
We purchased these mercury votive holders for our wedding. I decided to stick them EVERYWHERE around the house, providing instant Christmas spirit.
All of the decor looked lovely, except for this tree.
There was something about the way the limbs curled downward and the lack of color in the ornaments that made this piece look :( sad :(. Jon claimed it looked borderline demonic - I wouldn't go that far.

I quickly replaced the satanic piece with this arrangement.
The Waterford vases were weddings gifts from some dear friends of ours. I thought they looked beautiful!
Jon and I woke up pretty early on Saturday to make sugar cookies and pick up the keg. I'll let you guess who performed each task.
Just call me Martha.
People began showing up 45 minutes before I had planned. At first I was a little flustered because I still needed to make the white chili, but I quickly chilled out and realized that it's a lot more fun to cook when you have friends around and a beer in hand.
Buddy must have gotten flustered too because he threw up alllll over the entry-way about 2 minutes after people started arriving. Real nice.
My greatest idea of the day was Apple mimosas.
We made fresh apple juice with my beloved juicer and mixed it with a super-sweet variety of Andre champagne (we go for the expensive stuff, hah). It was the perfect holiday edition of a classic.
Everyone brought delicious appetizers and desserts. We certainly weren't short on food.
I got plenty of pictures of all the pretty ladies and gents in attendance.
Opps.
Much better!
Both Hands
The best-dressed couple of the evening were these two brothers, Quinn and Madden.
I toted around sweet Madden all evening and made him the prop in several of our pictures.
Si Si, Madden sure loves his Dos Equis.
Unfortunately, the game ended in defeat, but the guys certainly celebrated all of our touchdowns. Nothing says you love your team like shot-gunning a beer or doing a keg-stand, right?
I think the most surprising part of the evening was that people brought us house-warming gifts! We definitely were not expecting that, but we ended up with a gorgeous glass drink dispenser, a wreath, and some great bottles of wine. Cheers to home ownership!
Sunday has been quite slow so far. My boys are currently napping while I slowly catch up on laundry.
The Scogin fam is coming over tonight with pizza to help us finish the keg. It's probably the best way to end a great weekend.
All My Love,
Jessica
