My globe-trottin' parents arrived just before midnight on Thursday. Friday morning, I went to work and left my husband, parents (and helpful friends) to unload furniture. We are SO thankful for the furniture that my family is handing down to us. I am ESPECIALLY excited about this antique bar...ain't she a beaut!
Please ignore the moonshine on the shelves - my husband is a Southern Native, it comes with the territory.
Friday night we zipped into downtown Austin for some fabulous Italian at Taverna. The restaurant is known for their nightly specials. The waiter enticed my mother with the grouper-risotto platter; however, she wanted to make sure that grouper was a "light" fish before ordering. Don't worry- my dad some research on his IPhone, and came up with this.
Yep, that's what a grouper fish really looks like. Surprisingly, she still ordered the dish. It was much prettier on the plate!
Saturday, we beat-bopped all over downtown, stopping first at the Austin Java for a mid-morning pick-me-up.
We eventually found our way to the Four Seasons to relive a little wedding glory. We enjoyed the awesome afternoon weather on the patio whilst sipping cocktails.
And took advantage of the rarely-empty Four Seasons hammock.
Here is the site where Jon and I planned to get married...the weather of course had other plans for us on October 8th.
Jon and I officially got engaged here as well almost a year ago!
My parents left early on Sunday morning, leaving Jon and I to relax in our PJs all day long.
We wanted to get as much family time in as possible. The next three weeks will be filled with lots of commuting between San Antonio and Georgetown as Jon starts a month-long Army course at Ft. Sam Houston.
Tonight is actually the first night Jon and I have spend apart since our wedding :(. So this evening, it's just me and this rockstar....
While I enjoy Buddy's company, I sure miss Jon and my parents!
All My Love,
Jessica
