Friday night and Saturday morning were spent moving K&K into their new place. Well, the guys moved and Kelly & I found every excuse in the book to remove ourselves from the situation:
1.) We went to get the group Starbucks, because OF COURSE everyone needs some overpriced caffeine to muster up enough enthusiasm to move an oversized couch down 2 flights of stars.
2.) We went to pick up their new mail-key at the post office. God forbid they miss out on all of that, "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME" snail-mail-spam.
3.) We picked up everyone's lunch order from Jimmy John's- probably our most necessary task.
4.) We did some shopping for a bachelorette party that Kelly was hosting Saturday night.
At Party City, it quickly became apparent that I am not cut out for traditional bachelorette gigs. Jon and I had a joint bachelor/bachelorette weekend on the river with friends. It was fabulous, especially since I am not much for phallic straws and the like.
We did, however, fall in love with these Party Posse hats.
But lust quickly turned into hatred when a piece of glitter found its way under my eyelid.
I was also charged with the task of assembling the bright pink glow-bracelets on our way to the bachelorette dinner. Well, I broke bracelet #5 and the glowing goo spewed everywhere. Now Kelly's car resembles a black light investigation of a cheap hotel room.
Testing out tools of the trade.
I must admit though, while inexperienced with cold-weather clubbing, we certainly know how to pull an outfit together with a warm, cozy blazer.
The guys also went out that night to celebrate our friend's big accomplishment! Dan has been accepted into Special Forces, a very selective group within the Army.
This is Dan with Jon's dad at our wedding reception. He's already got the James Bond thing down pat. Congrats!!!
Sunday, Jon and I wrapped up the never-ending wicker project.
I found these outdoor cushions for pennies on the dollar at TJ Maxx. Jon later pointed out that they closely resemble a Lilly Pulitzer dress.
I didn't even think of that! But he is right...and I love the cushions even more now. I guess Lilly runs deep in my blood.
Have a wonderful week!
All My Love,
Jessica
