Trust me, I know! I've just been preoccupied with other things this week. I'll do better- scout's honor.
Last night, I went up to Ft. Hood to participate in my first event as an "officer's spouse."
Luckily, Kerri did not throw me to the wolves, even after I spilled my cheap champagne and littered the floor with pita chips. Friendship is blind.
On my way home, I heard this song for the first time. I know I'm a sap, but I thought
this was so sweet.
I ask Jon all the time what he would be doing if he hadn't met me (typically post-martini...and because I'm super mature). His standard response is, "looking for you, DUH. And spending my monies on whatever I want." Sweet, I suppose.
If I hadn’t been so lucky, I’d be...
Shootin’ pool in my bachelor pad
Playing bass in my cover band
Restocking up cold Bud Light
For poker every Tuesday night, yeah
I’d have a dirt bike in the shed
And not one throw pillow on the bed
I’d keep my cash in a coffee can
But if I was a single man
Alone and out there on the loose
Well I’d be looking for a woman like you."
She knows what a mess I’d be if I didn’t have her here
But to be sure, I whispered in her ear
"You know I get sick deep-sea fishin’
And you make the best fried chicken
I got a hopeless golf game
I love the sound of your name
I might miss that old green ‘Nova
But I love watchin’ you do yoga
I’d take a gold band on my hand
Over being a single man
Cause honestly I don’t know what I’d do
If I’d never met a woman like you.

I was quite impressed when I got home last night. Jon spent his solo evening fertilizing the lawn, organizing the garage, and he even took out the trash. Perhaps I need to attend fundraisers more often!!
I love him. Happy Weekend!
And to top it all off, he made me a smoothie this morning for the road.
It looked like throw-up in my gold solo cup, but it tasted like heaven.
I love him. Happy Weekend!
All My Love,
Jessica
